All The Skirts

Skirt from Marks And Spencer, top from H&M, belt unknown

I'm having trouble getting my boyfriend to take outfit photos this week: he's been working extra hours, and when he is home it's usually too dark to take photos.

I've also been having trouble motiviating myself to do things over the last few days. It's just been one of those weeks. I have a part time job, but I'm looking for full time work and have been for some time now. I'm very lucky in many ways. I have a wonderful boyfriend and family, wonderful friends, and a very happy life. It is just disheartening sometimes when I am turned down for a job that I really want, and even though I know logically that I will get a job eventually, there are times when I can't just smile and pretend I feel fine.

Anyway, I thought I'd show you some of the gorgeous under the knee skirts that my sister has given to me. I love the materials and colours, but I'm having some trouble with the length. I'm just not used to wearing skirts this long. Some people pull them off wonderfully (like my sister) but I always feel a little silly. What do you think? Apologies for the mirror photo! I hope you are all having a lovely week so far.

Oh, and yes, that is my (our) bedroom! The bed is not usually that messy, I promise: I had just taken all the sheets off to wash them!

  1. These are some lovely skirts, but I know what you mean, I have trouble with lengths like that. (I'm lazy and usually just roll up the waistbands!) But a great heel usually works as well. I love the green skirt on you, it looks lovely. :)

My husband use to take all of my photos, but when his shifts switched, I had to start working with a tripod and I have never looked back! (Seriously, it is so much easier with a tripod and most of them are fairly cheap. It makes it so much easier when the light starts fading in the winter.)

  2. I love the prints on all of these! I know what you mean though about the length. It can be tricky - though based on that first photo of you, it looks like you pull it off quite beautifully! I am really short, so the only way the under the knee length looks decent on me is with a pair of heels. I gotta admit though - I really love that length and am alright with breaking the rules every now and then :) xo Marisa

    I'm my own worst enemy.

If we lived next door I would borrow your clothes in a heartbeat.

  5. Too cute :) I love the green one. My husband usually isn't up for taking my pictures either. It's so hard to take them yourself though!

  9. I love them, especially the French Connection one - it would look ace with some high wooden wedges. Keep ploughing on with the job search - you'll get there, and before you know it you'll be telling us all how great your new job is!
